Resolve Rocks

I always enjoy our Resolve group meetings- so welcome to my fellow resolve peeps!

It's nice to know we're not alone in this journey. Infertility affects 1 in 8 people trying to conceive. There are alot more helpful resources over on the Resolve website.

Here are some of my favorite little tidbits: (from their website)

Myth: It's all in your head! Why don't you relax or take a vacation. Then you'll get pregnant!

Fact: Infertility is a disease or condition of the reproductive system. While relaxing may help you with your overall quality of life, the stress and deep emotions you feel are the result of infertility, not the cause of it. Improved medical techniques have made it easier to diagnose infertility problems.

Myth: Don't worry so much -- it just takes time. You'll get pregnant if you're just patient.

Fact: Infertility is a medical problem that may be treated. At least 50% of those who complete an infertility evaluation will respond to treatment with a successful pregnancy. Some infertility problems respond with higher or lower success rates. Those who do not seek help have a "spontaneous cure rate" of about 5% after a year of infertility.

We suffered from infertility for 4 years until my dr finally tested me for celiac disease. He said that 97% of people don't even realize they have the disease! A gluten-free diet can be a simple lifestyle change that makes all the difference in the world to your hormones and nutrition. It might really help with your FET success! Best of luck with the transfer!

I agree that Resolve Rocks. I think for me, the best part about it was helping Brad see that we weren't alone and I wasn't crazier than any other woman going through infertility.

Yep. And too bad they aren't myths speaking of it...taking a patient vacation would be a LOT cheaper than all the other stuff!

Here from ICLW! Great to hear about your transfer coming up and your total optimism about having a family. I never did make it to resolve, although a friend of mine goes and she loves it.

All the best with your transfer!

DH and I are coming out of the Infertility Closet. I told him immediately that there are two things that I DO NOT want to hear from people...

1.) Relax!
2.) It will happen, be patient!

Neither of those statements are helpful OR supportive!

I sure hope I fall into that spontaneous 5% infertilty cure rate, but I think that's pretty much impossible at this point!

Where in Ohio are you? I am in Toledo. We don't have a local Resolve chapter, but I have considered starting one.

From your comment on my blog. Symptoms of POF are hot flashes night, sweats, migranes, etc. I really don't have any of those. You said you were borderline, do you have symptoms?

Good luck with your FET! I wish you all the best!

I have heard those two so often they don't even phase me anymore. My new one is "Why don't you just get a puppy, then you won't have to worry about paying for college"
It is wonderful that you are so upbeat. Thinking positive transfer thoughts.
